TERMS OF SERVICE

1. General information and platform
Rentovini is an Estonian peer-to-peer rental platform that allows users to rent and list everyday items.
Rentovini OÜ acts as an intermediary and is not a direct party to rental transactions.
The platform connects owners with renters.
Rentovini is responsible for platform operation, payment processing, and user protection, but is not responsible for the condition, safety, or suitability of rented items.
2. User age and registration
Age requirement: The Rentovini platform is intended for users aged 18 and over only.
Upon registration, the user agrees to:
- Provide truthful and accurate personal information
- Confirm that they are at least 18 years old
- Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Registration requires confirmation of two separate statements:
- Confirmation 1: I have read and agree to Rentovini's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Confirmation 2: I confirm that I am at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
Rentovini reserves the right to suspend or delete an account if it becomes apparent that the user has provided false information.
3. Renter obligations
A renter is a user who rents another user's item through the platform.
- Use the item only for its intended purpose and in accordance with the owner's instructions
- Return the item in the same condition as received (normal wear and tear permitted)
- Return the item on the agreed date and time
- Not pass the item on to third parties
- Documenting the item's condition with photos before and after the rental is mandatory — photos are the basis for resolving damage claims
- Pay repair costs up to the item's full value in the event of damage
- Pay the full replacement value in the event of theft or total loss
4. Owner obligations
An owner is a user who lists their item for rent through the platform.
- Ensure the owner has the right to rent out the item (ownership or authorisation)
- Provide a truthful and accurate description of the item's condition
- Ensure the item is safe and in working order
- Include all necessary accessories and instructions for use
- Be available for item handover and return
- Damage claims must be submitted within 48 hours of the item's return, together with photo or video evidence. Claims submitted after this deadline will not be processed.
5. Payments and service fee
- All payments are processed through the Rentovini platform (Stripe)
- Rentovini's service fee is 20% of the owner's listed rental price, added on top of the renter's payment
- Renter pays: the owner's listed rental price + 20% service fee
- The owner receives their listed price in full — the service fee is not deducted from the owner's payout
- Payments are released to the owner within 24 hours of both parties confirming the rental end (see §6 — Rental completion). Funds typically arrive in the bank account within 2–7 business days
- In the event of a dispute, the security deposit is held until the dispute is resolved
Security deposit (optional): The owner may require a security deposit if the item is not returned by the agreed date or is returned damaged. The deposit is authorised (held) on the renter's card (Stripe authorization hold) and released after both parties confirm rental completion (see §6). In the event of damage, the deposit is used to cover replacement or repair costs.
6. Damage and liability
Damage types and liability:

Before/after photos are used to assess damage.
The item's condition must be established before confirming the return on the Rentovini platform.
If the item does not meet requirements, a damage report must be submitted.
7. Rental completion and confirmation
When a rental ends, a 48-hour confirmation window opens, during which both parties must:
- Upload photos of the item's condition at the time of return
- Confirm the item's condition (good / wear / damaged)
Both parties confirm, no damage → the security deposit is released automatically within 24 hours.
One party reports damage → a 5-day dispute window opens, during which parties can submit messages and evidence. If no agreement is reached within 5 days, the dispute is resolved automatically as follows:
- Owner provided no evidence → 100% refund to renter
- Owner provided evidence, renter did not respond → deposit transferred to owner
- Both parties actively disputed, no agreement reached → 100% refund to renter (default)
48 hours pass with no response from either party → the deposit is automatically released to the renter.
8. Dispute resolution
- The renter and owner resolve the dispute based on the submitted evidence
- If no agreement is reached, Rentovini makes a platform decision based on available evidence

Governing law: These Terms of Service are governed by Estonian law.
9. Prohibited use
The following are prohibited on the platform:
- Use of the platform by anyone under 18 years of age
- Renting illegal items (weapons, narcotics, etc.)
- Fraudulent activity, false representations, identity theft
- Concluding transactions outside the platform (to avoid the service fee)
- Harassing or threatening other users
- Infringement of intellectual property rights
Upon discovery of prohibited activity, Rentovini has the right to immediately suspend or delete the account and refuse refunds.
10. Platform liability
Rentovini's liability is limited as follows:
- Rentovini is solely responsible for platform operation, not for rented items
- Rentovini is not responsible for the outcome of disputes between users
- Rentovini does not guarantee uninterrupted operation of the platform
11. Changes to terms
Rentovini reserves the right to amend these Terms of Service. Users will be notified of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
