RENTOVINI
Owner / Lender Agreement
Terms for listing items for rent on our platform
Version 2.0 | March 2026
1. The basics
Rentovini connects you (the Owner/Lender) with people who want to rent items (Renters). We handle payments, messaging, and help resolve disputes, but we do not control your items or your interactions with Renters.
When a Renter books your item, you enter into a rental agreement directly with them. Rentovini facilitates this but is not a party to that agreement.
2. Getting started
2.1 Account requirements
To list items you must:
-
Be at least 18 years old
-
Create an account with accurate information
-
Provide your full name, date of birth, and address
-
Complete the Stripe Connect setup
2.2 Stripe Connect (how you get paid)
Before you can receive payments, you must complete the Stripe Connect setup:
-
Identity verification: Stripe verifies your identity (replaces a separate ID check)
-
Bank account: Connect the account where you want to receive payouts
-
Tax information: Provide the information required in your country
You cannot receive payments until Stripe approves your account.

Show honest condition (New, Like new, Good, Fair)
-
State a fair replacement value
-
Disclose all defects or limitations

Be in the correct category
4.2 What you cannot list

Dangerous or non-functioning items
4.3 Pricing
You control your prices:

Late fee: Daily rate for late returns
-
Replacement value: Item value in the event of loss or destruction
5. Your responsibilities
5.1 Before each rental
-
Ensure the item matches the listing description
-
Include all listed accessories
-
Provide instructions for use where necessary
-
Respond to booking requests promptly
-
Be available for the agreed handover
5.2 Photo documentation
📸 IMPORTANT: Take photos/videos before handing over the item AND at return. This is essential for any damage claims.
5.3 Rental completion — confirmation process
When the rental ends, a 48-hour confirmation window opens on the platform:
-
Upload photos of the item at the time of return (mandatory)
-
Select the item's condition: Good / Wear / Damaged
-
Confirm the return on the platform
If both parties confirm and there is no damage, the security deposit is released automatically within 24 hours.
If you report damage, a 5-day dispute window opens (see §6).
5.4 After confirmation
- Report damage within 48 hours of return with photo or video evidence
6. Damage claims and Rentovini protection
6.1 Security deposit
We recommend setting a security deposit (20–50% of item value for most items). Once set:
-
The deposit is held (not charged) on the Renter's card
-
If there is no damage, it is released automatically after the rental is confirmed as complete
-
In the event of damage, you can claim part or all of the amount
6.2 Filing a damage claim
-
Report damage within 48 hours of return (see §5.4)
-
Submit clear photos/videos of the damage
-
Include repair quotes or replacement costs
-
Show a before/after comparison
6.3 What is NOT covered
Rentovini protection does not cover:
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Pre-existing damage or poor maintenance
-
Items lost or damaged by couriers
-
Cash, jewellery, alcohol, live animals
-
Claims submitted after 48 hours
-
Damage resulting from your failure to provide instructions
6.4 Important disclaimer
Rentovini protection is a guarantee programme, not insurance. If your items are of high value, we recommend maintaining your own insurance.
7. Cancellation
7.1 Cancellation policy
Both parties may cancel with a full refund if the cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the rental starting.
- Renter cancels within 48h → full refund to renter
- Owner cancels within 48h → full refund to renter, no penalty to owner
7.2 If you cancel after 48h
Do not cancel on Renters without good reason. If you do:
-
The Renter receives a full refund
-
Your account may be penalised
-
Repeated cancellations may result in suspension
8. Taxes
You are responsible for declaring your rental income and paying applicable taxes. Rentovini may issue annual income reports, but we are not your tax adviser. Consult a specialist if needed.
9. If something goes wrong
-
First try to resolve issues directly with the Renter
-
Use platform messages (leaves a record)
-
If unresolved, contact Rentovini support
-
Submit all documentation
-
Rentovini makes a decision based on available evidence. If the parties are unable to agree on the condition of the item at handover, we recommend consulting a lawyer. For more information on consumer rights: ttja.ee
10. Platform rights and limitations
Rentovini may:
-
Remove listings that violate these terms
-
Suspend accounts for misconduct
-
Withhold payouts during active disputes
-
Update fees with 30 days' notice
Our liability is limited to the fees we have collected (20% service fee). We are not liable for Renter actions or item damage beyond facilitating dispute resolution.
