RENTOVINI

Renter Agreement

Terms for renting items through our platform

Version 2.0 | March 2026

1. The basics

Rentovini connects you (the Renter) with people who have items available for rent (Owners). We are an intermediary — we handle payments, messaging, and help resolve disputes, but we do not own or control the items.

When you book an item, you enter into a rental agreement directly with the Owner. Rentovini facilitates this but is not a party to that agreement.

2. Your account

To rent items you must:

Your payment card serves as identity verification. We use Stripe for secure payment processing.

3. Fees and payments

3.1 What you pay

At checkout you will see a clear breakdown:

3.2 How payments work

4. Your responsibilities

4.1 Taking care of the item

By renting an item, you agree to:

  1. Use it only for its intended purpose

  2. Follow the Owner's instructions

  3. Keep it secure

  4. Not modify, alter, or attempt to repair it

  5. Not lend it to anyone else

  6. Return it in the same condition (normal wear and tear permitted)

4.2 Photo documentation

📸 IMPORTANT: Take photos/videos of the item when you receive it AND when you return it. This protects you in the event of a damage dispute.

4.3 Rental completion — confirmation process

When the rental ends, a 48-hour confirmation window opens on the platform:

  1. Upload photos of the item at the time of return (mandatory)

  2. Select the item's condition: Good / Wear / Damaged

  3. Confirm the return on the platform

If both parties confirm and there is no damage, the security deposit is released automatically within 24 hours.

If the Owner reports damage, you will be notified and have 72 hours to respond. If no agreement is reached, the dispute is resolved automatically within 5 days (see §5).

4.4 Prohibited uses

You must NOT:

5. Damage, loss, and your liability

5.1 You are responsible

You are fully responsible for the item while it is in your possession. This includes damage from accidents, misuse, theft, or loss.

5.2 What counts as damage

5.3 What Rentovini protection does NOT cover

You remain fully liable for:

5.4 Damage claim process

  1. The Owner must report damage within 48 hours of return

  2. Photo/video evidence is required

  3. You will be notified and have 72 hours to respond

  4. Rentovini mediates if no agreement is reached

  5. Charges are processed only after review

6. Returning the item

You must return items:

Running late? The Owner's late fee (shown in the listing) applies for each additional day.

7. Cancellation

Both parties may cancel with a full refund if the cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the rental starting.

8. If something goes wrong

We hope everything runs smoothly, but if there is a problem:

  1. First try to resolve it directly with the Owner via messages

  2. If unresolved after 72 hours, contact Rentovini support

  3. We will review the evidence and mediate

  4. Rentovini makes a decision based on available evidence. If the parties are unable to agree on the condition of the item at handover, we recommend consulting a lawyer. For more information on consumer rights: ttja.ee

9. What Rentovini does (and does not do)

We are an intermediary. This means:

10. Legal information

This agreement is governed by Estonian law. We comply with EU GDPR data protection requirements. You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time.

By using Rentovini, you agree to these terms. We may update them with 30 days' notice.

Digital acceptance

By creating an account or booking an item, you agree to these terms. This has the same legal force as a signature under the EU eIDAS Regulation.
